Vestige

Explore the architecture of a damaged mind.

After a catastrophic personal history and the loss of his children, neuroscientist Elias Noe uses experimental technology to erase his memories. The player inhabits his fractured consciousness while his body lies in a coma. You explore the architecture of a damaged mind — not as a tourist, but as the one who must face what was buried.

"Vestige is not about defeating enemies. It is about confronting grief, navigating fractured identity, and rebuilding meaning from fragments."

Emotional Experience

Vestige is about confronting grief, navigating fractured identity, rebuilding meaning from fragments, and facing what the mind tried to bury. Progression is emotional integration — a metroidvania where the real unlock is acceptance.

World Design

The world represents neurological and emotional states: decaying memory corridors, collapsing cognitive structures, authoritarian memory fragments, neural pathways as traversal routes, and subconscious defensive entities. The environment tells the story.

Memory Fragmentation

Abilities unlock access to previously unreachable mental regions. Progress through the mind, not just the map.

Rewind — Regret Essence

Rewind to a past state: first position, then health, then debuffs, then offensive effects and singularity pulls. Revisiting trauma, in mechanic form.

Weapon System — Stages of Grief

Each weapon embodies a psychological state: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. You learn emotional mastery through combat.

Signature identity: A metroidvania where progression is emotional integration.
